-
-
- 2 Disclaimer
-
-
- New-Ware disclaims all warranties relating to this product, whether
- express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties
- of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. New-Ware cannot
- and will not be liable for any special, incidental, consequential,
- indirect or similar damages due to loss of data or any other reason,
- even if New-Ware or an authorized New-Ware agent has been advised of the
- possibility of such damages. In no event shall the liability for any
- damages ever exceed the price paid for the license to use software,
- regardless of the form and/or extent of the claim. The user of this
- program bears all risk as to the quality and performance of the
- software.
-
-
- 3 User License
-
-
- ZipTest is distributed as Shareware product. As such, it is made
- available to the general computing public for personal evaluation.
- Individual users and corporate representatives are licensed to operate
- ZipTest on their personal computers for the purpose of test and
- evaluation on a trial basis for a limited trial period. It is not
- possible to reasonably define any definitive limits of a fair and
- equitable time period for evaluation, therefore it is left to the user's
- judgment and sense of fair play as to the time required to make a
- decision as to its usefulness. If the user decides the program is not
- of sufficient merit to warrant purchase through registration with New-
- Ware, the program should be removed from their personal computer.
- Otherwise, if the program is deemed useful and is in regular use on the
- user's personal computer system, registration with New-Ware is required.
-
-
-
-
- - 2 -
-
-
-
- Registered users are those users that use the product on a regular
- basis and honor the rights of New-Ware by paying for ZipTest and
- register that payment with New-Ware. By virtue of registration and
- payment for the program, registered users are granted a license to
- continue to utilize the program on their personal computer for as long
- as they choose. This license authorizes the user to use the program on
- any personal computer system he or she may own so long as the program is
- operated on only one computer system at a time.
-
-
- 4 Shareware Distribution
-
-
- ZipTest is a fully functional Shareware product. Shareware is a
- computer program distribution/marketing method that permits potential
- buyers to thoroughly try the program prior to purchase. It is NOT free
- and it is not in the Public Domain. If, after evaluating the program,
- you find it to be useful enough to use it on a regular basis, you are
- expected to pay for it by registering with New-Ware. The registration
- fee is $10.00.
-
-

- a registered user and desire access. The author can also be reached on
- CIS via PPN 71535,665 (please use EMAIL).
-
- The Shareware version of ZipTest may be freely copied and passed on
- to other individual users for their evaluation. Disk vendors and/or
- distributors that desire to distribute ZipTest must adhere to the
- guidelines specified in the file named VENDOR.DOC.
-
-
- 7 Operating ZipTest
-
-
- ZipTest is a command line operated utility. This means that you
- must place certain key information parameters on the command line
- following the ZipTest file name when executing it. For a brief summary
- of command line options, run ZIPTEST with no parameter or the help token
- parameter "/?" as in: ZIPTEST /?.
-
- The first parameter is the file specification for test. This may
- be the name of a single zip file or a file specification containing DOS
- wild cards. For example, the following file specification parameters
- are all acceptable:
-
- ZIPTEST MYFILE.ZIP
- ZIPTEST *.ZIP
- ZIPTEST *.QWK
- ZIPTEST D:\PCB\UPLOAD\PRIVATE\*.*
-
- ZipTest will examine each file that meets the provided file
- specification and automatically detect whether the file is a Zip
- compressed file. This includes SFX EXE files created by the PkWare
- utility ZIP2EXE.
-
-
- 8 ZipTest Options
-
-
- There are four command line parametric options that modify the
- behavior of ZipTest. All options must be immediately preceded by an
- option switch character, either "/" or "-". Additionally, ZipTest
- supports DOS output redirection.
-
-
-
- - 4 -
-
-
-
- 8.1 ZipTest Text Output File
-
- The most important parameter is the optional output text file
- specification ("/@filename.ext"). When this parameter is used, ZipTest
- will direct all program text output to the specified file and suppress
- all screen output. This is very useful when running ZipTest from a
- batch file in a BBS environment. If the file that you specify exists,
- ZipTest will add to it rather than creating a new file. Here are some
- examples:
-
- ZIPTEST *.ZIP -/@UPLOAD.TST
- ZIPTEST *.REP -@D:\UPLOAD\RESULT.DAT
-
- 8.2 Extracting FILE_ID.DIZ
-
- When the "/I" or "-i" parameter is present, ZipTest will check each
- file tested for the presence of a file named FILE_ID.DIZ. If found and
- if ZipTest is placing output to a text file, the contents of FILE_ID.ZIP
- will be extracted and placed in the specified output file. Here are
- some examples:
-
- ZIPTEST *.ZIP -/@UPLOAD.TST /I
- ZIPTEST *.ZIP -@UPLOAD.TST -I
-
- 8.3 The Pause Option
-
- The pause parameter, "/p" (or "-I") is only active when ZipTest is
- directing output to the screen. This parameter will cause ZipTest to
- pause screen output every 21 lines of text. Here are some examples:
-
- ZIPTEST MYZIP.EXE /P
- ZIPTEST MYZIP.EXE -p
-
-
- 9 The Silent Mode
-
-
- The silent mode option ("/S") will override any other options on
- the command line. It is provided for BBS sysops who are only interested
- in the err code result of running ZipTest from a batch file do not
- desire file or screen output from the program. An example is:
-
- ZIPTEST upload.zip -s
-
-
- 10 Batch File Operations
-
-
- When run from a batch file, ZipTest will complete execution with
- one the following DOS err codes:
-
-
-
- - 5 -
-
-
-
- 0 = All Zip files tested, no bad files found.
- 1 = No Zip files tested due to an error.
- 2 = All Zip files tested, at least one file tested bad.
